RIDING SCHOOL HELPERS
Our Riding School would not be the place it is today without our much loved and appreciated helpers. We see all of our helpers as part of the CRC family, and feel that their dedication, initiative and enthusiasm should be rewarded with the opportunity to earn riding lesson
What do we want for our helpers?
We want our helpers to be so much more than just someone who turns up “to do a bit of leading, ride, maybe some grooming, and then go home”. We have a vision that all our helpers will become fantastic horsemen or women, and we will encourage them to expand on their knowledge and experience by working through our Riding School’s own ‘Stable Club’
Our Course is designed for young people to progress with their horse management and care skills to allow them to grow more experienced and confident with being around horses. We have to take into consideration appropriate age brackets as we feel helpers will be more suited and safer to do certain jobs at certain ages.
Our helpers course offers you the chance to…
- Spend longer with your favourite horses and ponies
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Learn new skills improve your horsey knowledge and understanding
- Complete several aspects of your Duke of Edinburgh award
To become a ‘Helper’ you will need to complete our two day crash course which takes place every school holiday.
Cost- £90 for two days and on completion, includes a certificate
Minimum Age- 10+
Although helpers can spend as much time as they like at our centre at weekends and in the school holidays, we feel that specified jobs should not exceed more than 3 hours per visit.
Once a helper has passed their course, they must register themselves by completing the following registration form: https://www.carrington-rc.com/helper-registration-form/
Helpers are welcome to attend our centre when we are open and must always sign in and out.
